Coffee Please

Coffee is something that I have personally gone back and forth with for a long time. I genuinely love coffee. Everything from where the beans are from and how they were harvested to how the espresso pours out into my cup. I either drink my coffee black or with an alternative milk and sometimes with a little bit of maple syrup.

Like with most things, I simply need to drink coffee in moderation which means about two to three 8 oz cups a day sometimes less, but not usually more.

Coffee can make me feel bloated, anxious, and give me indigestion because the drink is so acidic and acts as a hunger suppressant. There are also many benefits of coffee including powerful antioxidants, increased productivity, helps support a healthy liver, can fight depression, and some studies show that coffee can protect from Alzheimer's and Dementia.

I had to step back and ask myself where this daily consumption was hurting me and where it was helping me. Coffee causes some uncomfortable symptoms every now and then, but instead of cutting it out of my life I have learned to just lessen the quantity because coffee also brings me a lot of joy. Balance.
